IOWA TRANSIT SERVICES
Public transit is an alternative to the private automobile. It
provides access to opportunities that some Iowans might not
otherwise have. Access to work, school, medical facilities,
meal sites and leisure activities is a vital link to Iowans in
their continued self-improvement, independence and quality of
life.
Iowans use public transit
- to get to work, and contribute to the tax base;
- to get to school to improve themselves, and contribute to the betterment of their communities;
- to get to shopping to purchase the goods and services that keep
other Iowans employed, and the economy of the state growing;
- to achieve the mobility necessary to maintain an independent lifestyle, and desired qualify of life.
